“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” -John 3:16
- Since the fall of man, we have all sinned. Our sin separates us from God. Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
- Just as local, state and federal laws are broken, there is a penalty for when one breaks those laws. The penalty for our sin is death. Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord.
- For every penalty, there needs to be a payment; however, we cannot pay or do anything in with of ourselves to pay for the penalty of our sins. The great news is that the penalty for our sins was paid in full by Jesus Christ! Romans 5:8 says, “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
- That is why we need a savior. We cannot save ourselves, but Jesus can and did! If we repent of our sins, then confess and trust Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we will be saved from our sins. Romans 10:13 says, “For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:9-10 says, “If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Do you want to ask Jesus into your life to be your Savior?
If yes, then in your own words ask Him to forgive you, tell Him you believe He is the Son of God that died for you sins and rose again on the third day, and ask Him to come into your life to be your Savior. It could sound something like this…
Dear Heavenly Father,
I am sorry that I have sinned against you. I ask that you forgive me for all my sins. I believe that you died for me and paid my price and then rose again on the third day. Please come into my life, I want you to be my Savior. Help me to follow you. In Jesus Name, Amen.
